Responding to This Year's CFB Playoff Spread

Looking at this year's Playoff spread, Georgia will steamroll over Ohio State and whoever they play in the National Championship, which will be Michigan. If there were a twelve-team playoff, Georgia would likely steamroll over every opponent, but there's always that chance a March-Madness-type miracle would happen, making the postseason far more interesting.

As the only other team to go undefeated in a Power-5 Conference, it's a no-brainer that Michigan deserves to be the #2 team this year, but their last three games against Illinois, Ohio State, and Purdue, they may have won, but they did not look like the #2 team in the nation.

TCU and Ohio State are in the same boat. Both went undefeated all season, lost the last game of the year, and because they have one loss as opposed to two like Alabama, Tennessee, and Clemson, they got in. We all know the Committee wanted Alabama in, and if there weren't a huge risk of backlash from fans for allowing them in instead of TCU, they would have been in, and TCU would be the #5 team in the final rankings.

The Top-12 teams this year are deservedly in the Top-12. It is hard to argue that any other team should be in since all are zero, one, or two-loss teams. All of which could easily compete against the Top-4. A few teams that come to mind are Tennessee, Utah, USC, and hell, I'll throw Clemson in there.

In two years, we will finally get a twelve-team playoff. This will allow us to determine who the true national champion is each year and leave no doubt or questions of what-ifs. I'm excited about it; it will be excellent for college football.

Before the College Basketball season started, nobody could have expected the Tar Heels to start 5-3. When it was solidified that Carolina would have four of their five starters returning for this season, I predicted they would be the college equivalent to the 1995-'96 Chicago Bulls. But as we have seen in the previous three games against Iowa State, Alabama, and Indiana, that is far from the case.
