UNC Charlotte is still trying to define itself as it heads into its tenth season as an FBS program (Plus one year in the FBS). The 49ers have had one winning season in the program's history, including their first season in the FCS. UNCC jumped to FBS football way too fast, and the last nine seasons are evidence of that. I understand the move, given the program's size and funding, but they have had zero foundation to build on. The 49ers are predicted to finish in the bottom three in the American Conference, and I'm not sure Biff Poggi can pull them out of that spot. The top teams in the AAC could all be College Football Playoff contenders, and unfortunately for the 49ers, they'll play what I believe will be the top three teams in the conference this season. Max Brown may shine light in the darkness for the 49ers, though. He hasn't seen a lot of playing time at this level, but he was with the Florida Gators, and in my book, if you're a bottom-of-the-barrel team in a G5 conference, bringing on a former SEC quarterback, even if he was a bench player, can win you a game or two. I'll admit that I may be overly critical of the 49ers, but until they can show me some level of improvement, the Biff Poggi era may be difficult for 49ers fans. But let's look ahead into the 2024 season for the 49ers! Click Here to Read More!
