 The start of this NASCAR season has been less than optimal for Bubba Wallace, the driver of the #23 car for 23XI Racing, unlike his teammate TyLer Reddick who clinched his first win of the season and his fourth since joining the Cup Series. Wallace's day ended early on Sunday, just ten laps into the race, caused by a broken toe link and busted oil line. In his post-crash interview, he commented that he needed to "be replaced."

 Heading into today's race at the Circuit of the Americas, I figured it could be anybody's race. My favorites for the EchoPark Grand Prix were Ross Chastain and Kyle Busch since they had competed in the truck race on Saturday and had that additional practice to carry into the Cup Series Race. If you had bet on the two to finish in the top five, you would've won a decent amount of money, especially if you parlayed it. Chastain finished in fourth. Kyle Busch finished in second.
Becoming a diehard fan of NASCAR was inevitable for me. I grew up in America's Home for Racing, Charlotte, North Carolina. My childhood home was less than a mile from turn two at Charlotte Motor Speedway. When I was younger and didn't have the attention span for the six-hundred-mile race that takes place every May, my family would run outside to watch the fireworks once the Coca-Cola 600 had concluded.
 This weekend NASCAR fans will get a good preview of what the championship race will look like as they had to Phoenix. But, as I am sitting here, thinking about how the season will transpire over the next few months, a thought popped into my head that I can’t shake.
 I'm in quite the unique position being both a Chicago Bears and Carolina Panthers fan. I grew up in Charlotte, so I have always attended Panthers games. They're my hometeam, and I will always root for them. That is unless they are playing the Chicago Bears.
 Alright, so one thing about writing about sports is that now and then (actually, pretty much after every take I have), I have to admit that I... was wrong. The last time Carolina lost to Duke, I defended coach Hubert Davis because I believed the fanbase was acting too early calling for him to be fired. Well, I'm here today to say that he has to go unless the Tar Heels make the tournament by some miracle. Even still, it should still be a possibility.
