Well, it looks like I will be staying off social media for a few weeks now since Brittany Mahomes' husband and Jackson Mahomes' brother just won his second Super Bowl. I'm not mentally prepared to be amongst the millions victimized by their obnoxious content expected to come out over the next few days. Lord, I badly wanted the Eagles to win this one for that purpose. I"m glad that the Super Bowl is over because, as a Bears fan and an anti-Mahomes family individual, it was painful to watch. I didn't want the Eagles to win because they defeated the Chicago Bears in the wildcard round of the playoffs a few years ago, but they were the lesser of the two evils. Every team is back to 0-0. Thank the Lord we can put this season behind us.
Regarding the performance of the Super Bowl, we couldn't have asked for a much better game. All tied up with less than five minutes left? The only thing I wish would have been different is that the last score was a touchdown, not a field goal. This game was offensively stacked. Defensively, I would argue that it was horrible as only two teams participating in the Super Bowl had scored 35+ points since 1997 when the Packers and the Patriots battled it out. But I also argue that the offenses were just that good. It wasn't necessarily that the defenses were bad. My player of the game is Jalen Hurts, and I find it hard to argue against that. Of course, they have to give the MVP to someone from the winning team but Hurts opened the eyes of a lot of people with his performance tonight. 70 rushing yards, the most a quarterback has rushed for in the Super Bowl, three rushing touchdowns, 308 passing yards, and one passing touchdown. Like good Lord man, hit the gas pedal a little harder would ya? I loved following the Kelce Brother's storyline leading up to the Super Bowl, and I'm excited to hear their next podcast (New Heights with Jason and Travis Kelce). It's not every day we get to see two brothers play against one another; it has never happened in the Super Bowl. I started feeling bad for Jason (the Eagles Center), but then I remembered that he too, has a Super Bowl ring. Mama Kelce gives off Cherie Berry vibes, and I love it (my NC natives know what I mean). I love that her family has three Super Bowl rings amongst one another. Maybe before it's all said and done, the Kelce family will have more rings than the Manning family! As I said before, I'm glad this season is over. Finally, I can put the Chicago Bears' 3-14 record behind me and look forward to an offseason where we have the #1 pick in the draft and the most cap space in the league heading into free agency. I'm not sure how to predict next season for the Bears, and I will only be able to make my educated prediction once I see what free agents we pick up and what rookies we draft. Needless to say, I've never been more excited heading into the off-season! As always, Bear Down!
