They say that ignorance is bliss. And I fully believe in that statement. Those that know me know that I love to bring up conspiracy theories at the family function. It always sparks very entertaining banter. Though it may make my wife's parents question why they let this foil hat-wearing dude into the family, bringing things up like the moon landing being fake or the Illuminati controlling our every move, and having SOME data to back up these claims always leaves people second guessing everything they know. Whether you believe in conspiracy theories or not, that's their purpose. To have you second-guessing everything you know. Things like the moon landing being fake or the Illuminati controlling our every move are very difficult to prove. You won't find anything on Google (by design). But one VERY evident thing, especially within the last decade, it's that American Sports Leagues have a significant role in the outcomes of each season.
Where is my proof? Just take a look at the Kansas City vs. Cincinnati game. Some of you old heads will not be able to wrap your mind around refs rigging games, but with today's technology and the excessive use of instant replay, there should be no reason for refs to miss as many calls as they did on Sunday night. Take a look at the Golden State vs. Lebron series that lasted for years. You're going to tell me that that wasn't set up? Or Hell, Lebron making eight straight finals appearances? You're going to tell me THAT wasn't set up? There wasn't one team that could take him and that Cleveland team out? Last example I promise. Texas and Oklahoma have consistently had the best recruiting classes in the Big XII, yet neither of them found their way into the Big XII title game? If you go back and watch both team's season, you can tell that refs are favoring their opponents, and I believe this is because they are making the move to the SEC. There were too many games that came down to a drive or two where both teams didn't get calls that should've been called or they were penalized for petty shit. I don't know. When you boil it down, it's all about money. These leagues and conferences are going to do whatever it takes to make the most money, and it's becoming more and more evident with each game that these leagues have a lot more power in determining the outcome of these games. Sports are starting to not be fun to watch anymore. I wish I was still that 8-year-old kid that collected football cards and still thought the WWE was legit. There's no more trust between leagues and fans. That's why I've taken a slight interest in the NHL and the MLS. If those leagues are rigged, it'll take me a while to figure it out because I know nothing about hockey and soccer. Case Closed.
