Dover Motor Speedway is one of the NASCAR circuit's most exciting and thrilling racetracks. Located in Dover, Delaware, this oval-shaped track is a favorite among my favorite tracks to compete at in NASCAR Heat and one of my favorite tracks to watch a race. One of the unique features of Dover Motor Speedway is its concrete surface. Unlike most tracks paved with asphalt, the surface at Dover is concrete, providing more grip and increasing speeds for any car that sets its tires on the track. The high banking is another feature that adds to the excitement as drivers have to navigate turns at high speeds, which is uncommon for short tracks.
Another feature that separates Dover from other tracks is its nickname, "The Monster Mile." The track earned this nickname due to the length, one mile, and the fact that it can be unforgiving to drivers who make mistakes. The high speeds and tight turns make for intense racing, and drivers must be on their game to avoid collisions and stay competitive. Dover is one track on my bucket list of tracks to visit. You can almost guarantee an exciting race this Sunday with its concrete pavement, high bankings, and intense driving. Of course, I'm excited to see Ricky Stenhouse in action. He's been doing great this season, and I think he's got a real shot at taking home the Monster Trophy. Last season he finished second, and the race started a run that ended in four consecutive top-ten finishes for Stenhouse. According to Vegas, three of the Hendrick Boys have the best odds of winning. Larson (+500), Byron (+550), and Elliott (+650), followed up by Hamlin and Bell (+900) and Kevin Harvick (+1100). In the last five races, Harvick, Hamlin, and Elliott have found themselves in Victory Lane, and the fourth Hendrick driver, Alex Bowman, has also found his way there. You can catch the race this weekend at 3 PM EST on Fox Sports 1.
