I'm a Tar Heel born. I'm a Tar Heel bred. Therefore, I have a strong ACC bias regarding my takes on who should and should not make the College Football Playoffs. No team in the ACC this year belongs in the College Football Playoffs, even if the remaining undefeated teams win out. This take has pissed a lot of Florida State fans off, and reasonably so.
On X, I released my College Football Top-25 list, and I have Florida State sitting pretty at #10 behind Oregon, USC, Utah, Alabama, Michigan, Ohio State, Notre Dame, Texas, and Georgia. You can make your own opinions. That's just where I think Florida State belongs. While I would love nothing more than for the ACC Champion to make a College Football Playoff appearance at the end of this season, I do not see Florida State beating Georgia, Texas, Michigan, and Ohio State at the very least. Alabama, Utah, USC, and Oregon, sure, those would be tossup games, but even still, if you were to play Florida State against the nine teams I have above them 100 times, can you sit here and argue that at least 51 of 100 times Florida State is coming out on top? I don't think so. I will say, I have a bias towards teams with College Football Playoff Experience and have won a Conference Championship in recent history, so that may be where I'm flawed. Texas is the outlier here. The bottom line is there isn't a tried and true method to my madness, but I'm sticking to my guns. It's what I think. And I am more than happy to debate anybody on my Top-25 list. I'm not always right, and you may change my mind, who knows! 1. Georgia 2. Texas 3. Notre Dame 4. Ohio State 5. Michigan 6. Alabama 7. Utah 8. USC 9. Oregon 10. Florida State 11. Washington 12. Colorado 13. Penn State 14. UNC 15. Oklahoma 16. Washington State 17. Florida 18. Wisconsin 19. LSU 20. Ole Miss 21. Auburn 22. Tennessee 23. Miami 24. TCU 25. Iowa In the comments below, let me know where you think Florida State should stand in the rankings!
