The Calgary Flames were not on my list of five prospective NHL teams that I would become a fan of... until I went to watch the Seattle Kraken play. I decided I would watch each of the five teams play at least once before concluding who my favorite team would be. On February 19, the Seattle Kraken visited the Calgary Flames, and the Flames stole the show. I take to Twitter for each game that I watch, no matter the sport, and the response I received from the Calgary fanbase could be in the running for the best Twitter fanbase that there is. I loved engaging with the Calgary fans throughout the game, and the impression they left will be considered whenever I decide on a team. I feel like this will be a great fanbase to welcome me into the world of hockey.
The Flames upstaged the game that I was watching to determine where the Kraken would land when choosing my favorite NHL team. I have a huge Twitter presence bias, and during the Kraken at Flames game the Kraken's presence was surprisingly underwhelming. The play on the ice was not anything to marvel at either. I can confidently say that unless the Kraken plays one of the other four teams I will be evaluating, and they blow me away online and on the ice, the Kraken will not be my favorite team.
