A few months before my birthday Dawson decided he was going to buy us Morgan Wallen concert tickets and see him on my birthday. Since we have been together I have been begging him to take me to a Morgan Wallen concert. I love his songs solely because they make me feel emotions. I know that sounds cheesy but I wanted to go because Talkin’ Tennessee was one of the first songs Dawson sang to me in my dorm room when we were hanging out. He would always tell me that he loved me more than his hometown. AND finally, Redneck Love Song was our favorite song to listen to when we were driving at 2 AM on the Blue Ridge Parkway. To put it simply Morgan Wallen’s songs tell the story of our love story. So my birthday comes along and we go to see him. We got the VIP passes to the lounge which I couldn’t enjoy the full benefits of because I am not 21 but it was still a fun time and I got to eat cookies! We then made our way to our seats and honestly, they were probably the best seats in the entire arena. Larry Fleet opened first and as Dawson said in his article covering this concert, I wish I had done more research on him and learned some of his songs because he was actually really good. Hardy came on next and I only like a few of his songs like Rednecker and Give Heaven Some Hell. That last one brings me to tears every time especially when we were seeing Hardy perform it live. Then Morgan Wallen came on the stage and I was starstruck. I sang my little heart out to every single song and barely had a voice by the end of the night. There was one moment though that I knew this would probably be my favorite concert to date (and I’ve seen Garth Brooks perform the third verse of Friends in Low Places in Oklahoma City so you know I mean business when I say that). Ronnie Dunn came out onto the stage and sang one of Morgan Wallen’s songs but then sang Neon Moon.
You could definitely tell who was the OG country music fans when Ronnie Dunn came out on the stage based on who got so freakin’ excited they could barely stand it. I was one of those who could barely stand it. I literally told Dawson when we left “forget Morgan Wallen, I just saw Ronnie Dunn I’m literally shaking from excitement”. It made my entire night, heck it made my entire LIFE. I absolutely love going to concerts. I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again. Listening to Morgan Wallen on the radio is NOTHING like listening to him in person. The raspiness in his voice is enhanced, you can see the emotion in his eyes, and you can see his love for performing. Next up I will be forcing Dawson to take me to a Cody Johnson concert. I am one of those fans that have been a fan since 2016. His song The Grandpa Song helped me cope with my own grandfather's death and I still cry to this day when I listen to it. I can’t stand those fans who discovered him in 2020 and are like “Oh we are the OG’s” no sweetheart you are not. The only reason I knew about him was because he used to perform in dance halls around Oklahoma and my sister used to go see him with her boyfriend (now husband). Of course, being a little sister I had to seem cool and like the same things but I actually do love Cody Johnson. Catch the review of that concert as soon as I convince Dawson to take me :)

Won't take much to convince me to take you to a Cojo concert
