This is not a typical blog that I write, but it's one that I hold true and dear to my heart. Before Monday's game between the Buffalo Bills and Cincinnati Bengals, I had not heard of Damar Hamlin, but now his name is streamlining all over social media and news networks.
As you read through the articles and watch news channels cover the tragic event, I want you to remember that Damar was not just a football player for the Buffalo Bills. He is a son, brother, and friend. He is a 24-year-old living out his dream that, in an instant, with no preparation, was shattered. If you are a football fan, remember the athletes on the field are more than just athletes. They are human. These are young men living out the dream that many of us have dreamed. As you read this, I ask you to say a prayer for Damar, his family, and the teammates that call him their brother. This is an event that nobody wishes to happen, yet it is the very ugly side of the game that brings so many of us together.
