The ice has fallen through with the Chicago Bears. I am so done with this team and honestly have no idea where to go from here. Year after year, this organization builds up hope; before we even have time to enjoy anything Chicago Bears-related, they ruin it.
I'm not done with the Chicago Bears, even though I just said I was. My wife keeps telling me to pick a different team, but I explained that it's not that simple. Choosing another team would be like picking another wife. Sometimes, my wife gets on my last nerve and makes me want to jump off a bridge, but I'm not going to leave her because of it because I love her with all my heart and my soul. Even on the worst days, I love my wife more than anything this world has to offer. And you know what, maybe my wife is onto something. Even though my wife and I have bad days like any other married couple, we have more good days than bad. With the Chicago Bears, it's all bad. It's horrendous. The Bears are the new Cleveland Browns. The organization can do nothing right. We are the league's laughingstock, and I'm tired that people are starting to pity me because I like the damn Bears. I think we can all agree that Eberflus needs to go. He makes Matt Nagy look like Bill Belichick. At the very least, Nagy got us to the playoffs twice. Ryan Poles gave this guy a solid roster that very well could have won the NFC North, but Eberflus's incompetence has got us fans questioning everything, which brings me to my next question. How much of the lack of success is on Ryan Poles? Eberflus was obviously a bad hire, but with everything else he has done up to this point, I feel like he has been spot-on. He has put together a good roster and has good picks in the upcoming draft that can help us in the future. Y'all comment what you think about this take, because I'm writing purely out of emotion right now and not logic. The next question I have is, is Justin Fields our guy? At this point, I don't know. I don't know how much of this dumpster fire is on Eberflus, how much is on Poles, and how much is on the players. I feel like Fields is still that guy, but obviously needs a better situation than the current one he is in. If Fields is not that guy, do we draft Caleb Williams? The obvious answer is yes, but this puts me between a rock and a hard place because I'm a Bears fan, but I'm also an Oklahoma Sooners Fan. So, on the one hand, I don't want him to play for the Bears, but on the other hand, Chicago is notorious for ruining quarterback's careers. Lastly, and I'm not asking, I'm making a statement, the McCaskey's need to sell the freaking team. They have gotten so content with sucking that it no longer phases them. After seeing what Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney have done to Wrexham FC, they should take over (before y'all come after my neck for saying that, I'm joking. But the team needs to be sold to someone who likes to win). I hate to see the team not owned by someone in the Halas bloodline, but it's been over 100 years. It's time. On yeah, and to make matters worse, Taylor Swift and all of her fans were watching us get our teeth knocked out.
